A One Year Journey On Medium

When I see this kind of titles I think to myself “OK congrats, but who cares?”

Now I think I’m starting to understand some of the possible reasons why people write about their achievements on Medium. At least the reasons that motivated me to write this article: to express my gratitude to the platform, to show others that it is possible to get your content read and make some income from it, and to share the joy of having engaged so much with the platform and with the community of writers and readers I connected with.

Key moments in my writing journey

As an academic, technical writer I’ve written non-stop for almost two decades. Manuscripts reporting new science, reviews summarizing the state of the art in my fields of work, grants, science communication news, and more.

As a non-technical writer, I’m much newer. And I’m liking it!
